The petrochemical industry has challenged the environmental management system to protect water, soil and atmosphere from pollution.   The petroleum refinery industries use large amount of water, especially in cooling tower.  In addition, the wastewater from the petrochemical industries usually contains chemicals such as hydrocarbons, solvents and other volatile organic compounds.
